🧠 What’s the First Software That Starts the Whole Computer?

Before any games, apps, or typing tools open, there’s one special kind of software that starts everything.

It’s called the operating system — or OS.

You might know it by names like:

  • Windows

  • macOS

  • Android

  • iOS

  • Linux

This software is like the head teacher inside your computer.
It manages everything from the moment your computer turns on.

 

🎓 What the Operating System Does

The OS has a big job. It helps the computer:

  1. Start up correctly

  2. Talk to all the parts (keyboard, screen, speaker, storage)

  3. Run your apps and games

  4. Keep things safe and organized

  5. Let different apps share the screen or memory without fighting

Without the operating system, the computer would turn on… and do nothing.
